Watch Street Artist Nychos Paint a Gruesome Wall Mural

Austrian artist Nychos specializes in cheerfully macabre paintings of dissected animals and people. His fascination with anatomy began at a young age; he was raised in a hunting family who introduced him to every aspect of hunting; from stalking and killing an animal to butchering the carcass and treating the remains. The colors, textures and details of the inner workings of living things appealed to the artist within Nychos. He went on to express the gore that he saw in real life through his art, which took on a cartoonish style due to, as the artist claims, the amount of cartoons that he watched as an 80s child.

In this street art video, Nychos takes a blank and boring wall somewhere in Vienna, Austria and graces it with one of his unusual murals. He’s called this one “Snake Bait”, portraying a rat in an agonized pose of living dissection. The resulting art work is one that any snake would find tasty indeed.

Nychos creates paintings on a variety of surfaces. Sometimes he chooses a wall, other times he works on traditional surfaces such as paper or canvas. You can see more art by this weirdly wonderful artist on mayhemandmuse.com in Nychos Dissects Life and Death with Wacky Illustrations. You can also buy art prints, clothing and other special items through his collaborative art site Rabbit Eye Movement or simply enjoy more of his freaky and funny street art on his Facebook page.

Spanish graffiti artist Aryz is another aeroholic who incorporates gory anatomical elements into his cartoonish graffiti. You can compare his work to Nychos’s style in this article: Huge, Graphic and Gory Street Art Murals by Aryz
