Watch Street Artist Monsieur Qui Hijack a Billboard

French street artist Monsieur Qui (aka Eric Lacan) creates poster art that he displays mostly on the streets of Paris, France, but occasionally in other European cities. This video shows how Monsieur Qui approaches a billboard display in a nonchalant manner while carrying a ladder and his paper cut outs, roller and glue. Anyone passing by might not notice the artist while he’s at work because he blends into the city as just another guy going about his business. Even while he installs his poster art, Qui doesn’t seem out of place and easily performs his daylight vandalism without being stopped by authorities. At the end of the video, we see a police car cruise by the poster moments after the artist finished with his work, leaving us to wonder if the police would have been taken in by his everyday appearance too…

The result of all this artistic effort is an incredible black and white portrait of a gagged woman smoking a cigarette. The beauty of this piece, other than the beauty of its female subject, is that the artist leaves the interpretation of the meaning of the street art installation up to whoever stops to admire it.
