Stamatis (aka STMTS) is a street artist and fine artist based in Athens, Greece. He works primarily with poster graffiti, and focuses on portraits of people as the focus of his art. Many of his poster paste-ups use children as the subjects of his art. Each graffiti piece carries a deeper message or a statement about social values, popular opinions or current events. Stamatis brings us messages from the next generation by giving a voice to an often voiceless group in society; young children. This is not to say that each street art poster addresses serious issues – many paste-ups show children laughing, smiling and celebrating all of the possibilities that the future may bring.<\/p>\n

STMTS has an appealing street art style. His posters are made up of sketches, an art style that is rarely seen on such a large scale. He adds hints of symbolic color; happy pastels add to a joyous scene while rich reds add to a passionate piece. His skill with color choices and usage really adds to the nature of each of Stamatis’s graffiti posters by not only making the art work more attractive, but by adding to the symbolism of each design.<\/p>\n
